Garfield avenged its only KingCo 4A loss from last season, winning at Redmond 25-20, 25-14, 25-14. Since the Seattle schools joined KingCo 4A, it marked the first time Redmond lost a conference match to a city team.
Outside hitter Lilie Cohn had 12 kills to go with three blocks and two aces for Garfield and middle blocker Chelle Ticeson added six kills and five blocks.
The Bulldogs, who knocked off Woodinville on Monday, improved to 3-0 in KingCo and 4-2 overall. Garfield, Redmond and Woodinville were the preseason favorites.
